COMPANY HISTORY

Mouka Limited started as a family owned business half a century ago in Kano. It was pioneered by the children of the late Mr. Faiz Moukarim. The company was then incorporated under the name Moukarim Metalwood Factory Limited in 1959.

It began operations with the production of furniture and allied metal products providing a major portion of the market in Northern Nigeria with quality furniture. To strategically position the company to meet the challenges of the 70's, the owners decided to diversify into the production of intermediate raw materials for the furniture industry by setting up in Ikeja, Lagos, MOUKA FOAM and MOUKA PIPE in 1972 and 1976 respectively. Both Companies were part of MOUKA LTD.The two companies thereafter separated and Actis a leading private equity investor company acquired 66% ownership of the company in 2007.


CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ECONOMY

MOUKA LTD provides gainful direct employment to over 400 employees and at the same time provides a means of sustenance to over 5000 people w ho are involved in the distribution and retailing of the company's products.With our various types of quality foams MOUKA has been creating added value to the Nigerian economy by producing necessary raw materials to the furniture industry.

With the benefits and support of ECOWAS Trade Stipulations MOUKA FOAM has begun to charter into the export of foam, helping to do its share in upholding Nigeria's prominent role among her Sister Nations.
